About The Gwynns Falls Watershed Association
The Gwynns Falls Watershed Association (GFWA) was founded in 1997 as a 501c3 non-profit, community-based organization.
Our Mission Statement
The purpose of the Gwynns Falls Watershed Association is to engage in activities designed to improve water quality in the Gwynns Falls Watershed and to promote and enhance the value of the Gwynns Falls and its tributaries as a recreational, aesthetic, educational and natural resource.
GFWA's action agenda - including community outreach and education, informed advocacy with respect to stream quality issues and volunteer watershed restoration projects - is designed to improve both the quality of our streams and the quality of life in the whole watershed community.
The Gwynns Falls Watershed Association is a partner in Revitilizing Baltimore, a project funded by the U.S. Forest Service and managed by the Parks & People Foundation in cooperation with the Maryland State Forester. Additionally, the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation has provided a substantial grant to develop our Stream Watch Program.
